Water Conservation

Low-flow Aerators for faucets and Low-flow Shower Heads can be the single-most effective water conservation method you can implement within your home. Faucets, showers, baths and toilets typically consume more than 60% of a home's total potable water use.

Although you would never tell the difference, Arboretum at Burlington provides low-flow faucet aerators and shower heads. 

Energy Efficient Lighting

The Arboretum at Burlington, NStar and NationalGrid are undergoing a light fixture replacement program which will replace all common area and apartment lighting fixtures with new energy efficient fixtures.  The new fixtures are expected to save approximately 2100 kilowatts per year, per consumer!

Fun Fact: An ENERGY STAR qualified compact fluorescent light bulb (CFL) will save about $30 over its lifetime and pay for itself in about 6 months. It uses 75 percent less energy and lasts about 10 times longer than an incandescent bulb.

Energy Star

Every step we take to become more energy efficient and lessen our impact on global climate change is a step to preserve energy resources and our environment for generations to come. Just think: if every American home replaced its old refrigerator and/or freezer with ENERGY STAR qualified models, together, we would save:

ü  Enough energy to light more than 9.2 million homes for an entire year.

ü  More than $2 billion in annual energy costs.

ü  The annual greenhouse gas emissions of more than 2.3 million cars, or nearly 1% of all registered automobiles in the United States.

All refrigerators and dishwashers used in our newly renovated homes are Energy Star rated.  We also use programmable thermostats in all apartments reducing unnecessary heating bills. 

Recycling

The Arboretum at Burlington provides single stream recycling to all residents. Recycling Center is located near-by the entrance of the property.

Preparing For Your Arrival

The Arboretum at Burlington uses Low VOC Paints & Green Cleaning Products to prepare a new apartment home for a new resident.  By using greener, more environment friendly products we hope to have our residents enjoy their surroundings from the minute they move in. 

Earth Day

Earth Day is a very important day at the Arboretum at Burlington.  Together with Cunniff Landscaping we dedicate a day to teaching the children of our community the importance of preserving our environment by creating more “green” areas within the community.  Every year we celebrate Earth Day by planting new shrubbery, flowers and ornamental grasses which require less water, chemicals and care.
